About MHS

For over 40 years, the Michigan Hemingway Society has been uncovering the Michigan influence on Ernest Hemingway's work, especially on The Nick Adams Stories. The Society holds regular Hemingway Conferences in the Petoskey area which feature speakers, readings, exhibits, and tours of sites where the Nobel Prize-winning author spent his boyhood summers.

Mission statement

We welcome everyone who is interested in exploring and preserving the impact Michigan’s environment had on Ernest Hemingway’s life and literature.
